Peace River Museum & Archives - Textile & Garment Storage

Updated: Sep 16, 2022

" On behalf of the Peace River Museum, Archives & Mackenzie Centre. I would like to thank you for installing the Museums new textile rolling shelves. Your professional design and install, in combination with your attention to detail will no doubt help in the preservation of the museums collection for years to come! - Curator, Peace River Museum

Working with the amazing staff at the Peace River Museum & Archives; we designed multiple options and budget pricing so they could secure funding through grants as well as through the City.

Storage capacity, lighting, and preservation were all important factors that needed to be kept in mind when designing the system in the room that was available.

We ended up designing & installing extra wide carriages so we could put two back to back sections on each base. Making a total of six open sides with four storage areas per side, for a total of twenty four open hanging storage areas for the collection of jackets, dresses, uniforms and other artifacts.

The entire system was powder coated in our arctic white colour, to help those working in the museum find the artefacts they need when putting together an exhibition. Once the system was completed Westbow Systems went over every inch to make sure there were no sharp corners, dirt or damage.

It ended up being a beautiful system that will be used to store & protect textile & garment artifacts from the Peace River area for many years to come.
